Air pollutants sources and effects

Image
Air pollutants sources and effects  Air pollution is mainly caused due to two reasons first humans and second due to air pollutants present in the atmosphere. And if you want to control or stop pollution in air, first you have to know about air pollutants, their sources and its effect. When you get full and complete information about their sources. Then you will recognise the real cause and will be able to control it. Through this article we conveyed air pollutants full information from where they are generated and how they will affect you and your family. Let's start Air pollutants sources and effects CO ( carbon monoxide) It is colorless, odorless, tasteless gas, chemically inert under normal condition of temperature and pressure. It has no effect at normal concentration (0.1 ppm) but at higher concentration it is seriously affects  the human metabolism. Sources a) CO reduce the oxygen carrying capacity of blood by reacting with hemoglobin and cause giddiness, laziness and exhaus

Here's Why Air Pollution sucks

Here's Why Air Pollution sucks

CAUSES AND EFFECT OF AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution occurs when the , harmful gases ,smoke and dust particles introduce in atmosphere . Air pollution harmfully affects on humans human ,animal and plant life.

In this articles you will find the cause and effect of the air pollution in a very simple manner .

we will  try to aware you about this threat with  the help of understandable or simple image and graphs. In last we tried to awnser all the trending question on quota.

WHAT IS AIR POLLUTION ?

According to study an average human being takes 22000 breaths per day and inhales 16 kg air in a day. That means they also inhale harmful gases and substances in very large amount .

This causes various types of diseases which are related to lungs. It also affects environment . It is the major reason for global warming , climate change ozone layer depletion and acid rain .

DO YOU WANT TO OBSERVE THE AIR POLLUTION IN YOUR NEAR BY LOCALITY BY AN ACTIVITY ?

If you want to do so then we have an activity for you  , through which you can easily observe it in your near by locality .

Material required->  Plastic bottle

Procedure -> You have to put that plastic bottle on your terrace in open air. You need to observe it after 2 or 3 weeks. the amount of dust you will observe on the surface of the  plastic bottle , you  can guess the quantity of  it in your locality .

Please comment down below your observation ?

CAUSES AND EFFECT OF AIR POLLUTION

Air pollution is caused various humans and natural activities . But major cause of air pollution is human activities . Humans cause pollution in two ways directly and indirectly which we will discuss later in the articles .
There are two main cause :-
=> NATURAL ACTIVITY
=> HUMAN ACTIVITY

NATURAL ACTIVITY

Generation of AIR POLLUTANTS by natural activity is less than human activity . But it also a cause of the pollution in very small amount .

~> Natural activity like pollen grains migration , photochemical reaction on the trees .

~> Forest fires and volcanic eruption are two major source of it by natural activities.

~> Salts sprays by the waves of oceans introduce the salt particles  into the biosphere .

~> Organism like bacteria and other microorganism produce very less amount of pollution .

~> These are all the causes of air pollution by natural activity.

HUMAN ACTIVITY

Human are the major cause for the air pollution . They disturb the composition of air .They increase the amount of harmful gases and particles in the biosphere.

INDUSTRIAL UNIT -> Major source of dangerous gases and particles are industries. Human generates a large amount oxide if nitrogen which is very harmful to humans.
In industrial the thermal power plants produced a large amount of smoke and fog into the atmosphere.
CAUSES AND EFFECT OF AIR POLLUTION

FOSSILS FUEL BURNING -> A major source of it fossil fuel burning. It is used in vehicles and industries . Human use vehicle for transportation . Due to the fossil fuel burning the gases like co2 (Carbon di oxide ) and Co (Carbon monoxide) are produced which cause diseases which is related to lungs.

Other causes of air pollution by human are

~> mining
~> Domestic burning of woods
~> Agricultural activity
~>Nuclear explosion
~> Cooking food
~> During the wars

EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION

Due to deforestation and fuel combustion in the industries and automobiles , the co2 content of the atmosphere is expected to double by the year 2030. This causes climate change and global warming .

Due to this the  temperature of earth increased . When the temperature of earth icreases melting of ice and glaciers will start. By this sea water level has been increasing and coastal region will suffer the most .

EFFECTS ON PROPERTIES / MATERIAL

-> Corrosion of metal like building roofs, rail tracks and metal bridges etc

-> Acid present in the air reacts with limestone a marble and other building material and corrodes it. Which can cause permanent damage on human building .

-> Protective coating and paints on the surface are affected by this.

-> Damage of textile dyes and textile fiber is common .

-> Cracking of rubber types and various forms of electrical insulation.

EFFECT ON AESTHETIC BEAUTY

The aesthetic beauty of nature is not visible (Reduction in visibility results from scattering of light by air borne 0.1 to 1 um . This also lead to safety hazard  in the haze formed dust and smoke .

Industries , automobile , sewage and garbage heaps emit foul odours causing further loss of aesthetic beauty.

EFFECT ON ANIMALS AND PLANTS

As we know due to the increase of co2 in atmosphere the average temperature of the earth increases. So temperature sensitive plant and animal can not survive. Due to ozone layer depletion animal can suffer from different diseases.

EFFECT ON HUMANS HEALTH

~> Eye irritation can be caused by many air pollutants such as NOx ,O3 ,PAN, smog etc.

~> Nose and throat irritation by harmful gases and particles .
~> Irritation of respiratory tract.

~> gases like So2 ,SPM, No2 can cause bronchitis and asthma .
~>Gases like Co decrease the oxygen carrying capacity of blood. By reacting with haemoglobin .

~> Hydrogen fluoride can cause flourosih and mottling of teeth.

~>Heavy metal like lead can cause poisoning. Its high concentration can cause damage liver and kidney.

~> Due to ozone layer depletion will cause sunburn , inactivation of proteins blindness etc.
`
ECONOMICALLY

Air pollution reduces agricultural crop and commercial forest yields by billions of money each year.People staying off work for health reason can affect economy greatly.

Trending on Quara

What is the impact on air pollution due to shutdown imposed because of corona ?

Above mentioned question is one of important question which is  trending right now on quora .

Here we will try to give the exact answer of above question with the  help of latest data.

Let's begin

Due to lockdown we can observe various kind changes in the enviroment like :
~> Sky has become clean and clear because of the shutdown of many industries the generation of Co2 and  pollutant like Pm 2.5 decreased drastically.
~> Water has  become pure and pollution free . Scientists are observing the growth of aquatic ecosystem .
~> Every year 4 million plus people die due to the effect of Pm 2.5 . But this year due to decreases in its quantity 77000 people has been saved.
~> Rivers like ganga, Nile and Yamuna become less polluted .

CONCLUSION

Air pollution is dangerous for our enviroment . It can cause harmful effects on plants , animals including human being. Humans are major reason for its existence and persistence as well.

Governments are also taking good steps toward air pollution . but we think that each and every human being have to help in reduction of pollution .

What steps are you must taking towards it please comment down below . And please comment your experience. Because you matter the most. If you like our article please subscribe our blog for support . " thank you"
