Air pollutants sources and effects

Image
Air pollutants sources and effects  Air pollution is mainly caused due to two reasons first humans and second due to air pollutants present in the atmosphere. And if you want to control or stop pollution in air, first you have to know about air pollutants, their sources and its effect. When you get full and complete information about their sources. Then you will recognise the real cause and will be able to control it. Through this article we conveyed air pollutants full information from where they are generated and how they will affect you and your family. Let's start Air pollutants sources and effects CO ( carbon monoxide) It is colorless, odorless, tasteless gas, chemically inert under normal condition of temperature and pressure. It has no effect at normal concentration (0.1 ppm) but at higher concentration it is seriously affects  the human metabolism. Sources a) CO reduce the oxygen carrying capacity of blood by reacting with hemoglobin and cause giddiness, laziness and e...

Urbanization Effects On Environment

  • What are the harmful effects of urbanization on environment ?
  • How will it damage the environment upto 2050 ?
  • What are its environmental impacts ?

If you want exact and simple answer of above-mentioned queries. You are at the right place.

At present large population of rural areas is shifting towards the cities or urban areas.

And in 2050, 68% of the world population will live in the metro policies. Which will damage the environment and creating harmful risk on human health.

But it also have some positive aspects or impact on the environment too. In this article we will discuss both aspects.

Let's start

Urbanization effects on environment

Increment in growth rate of population of humans in the urban areas or metropolis is known as urbanisation.

According to an intimation of world's scientists are estimating that 68% of world population will shift in urban areas of big metropolish till 2050.

Almost 2.5 billion people will shift towards big metropolises till 2050.

Another report predicts that 90% of this increment in population of metropolises will take place in Asia and Africa.

Countries like India ,Pakistan ,China and South Africa will suffer more through this.

Urbanisation not only shows its impacts on world's economy, its effects are majorly on environment.

Due to urbanization not only rate of growth of population will increase, it will also increase the rate of generation of waste, increase the rate of deforestation, number of vehicles per capital and it will directly accelerate the pollution.

Urbanisation affects environment by various activities like urban heat island, decreasing the greenery of towns and cities, increases rate of eutrophication and definitely affect the quality of water.

We listed the effects and discussed in depth next in article.  For that ( keep reading!)

Urbanization impacts on Garbage generation

An intimation or report says that  only three countries China ,India and Nigeria will face increase in population up to 35%.

So when the rural people shift towards big metropolises , towns and cities to survive , they will perform various kind of activities.

These activities by rural persons will accelerate the garbage generation rate of the cities and towns.

This extra waste will also accelerate their effects on environment.

Ways to impacts the environment

Waste which includes rubbish ,ashes ,putrefaction and leachates are known as solid waste.

The solid waste is introduced in the environment due  to day to day activities of humans. When the population will increase , it will directly affect its production.

Which lead to harmful disease like malaria ,dengue, diarrhoea and plague.

Biomedical wastes like human and animal anatomical waste, microbiological and biotechnological garbage.

They're responsible for water and odour pollution. It affects the the quality of drinkable water and affects the odour test and colour of the water.

Garbage produced through useless parts of computers, mobile phone and other electronical instrument/garbage is called e waste.

At present to make the product advance from existing ones. Manufacturers use heavy and toxic metals like lead ,mercury and sulphur etc.

Which lead to very harmful disease . When it dumped in  water on land.

Deforestation

Increased population will demand piece of land to make their shelters. To fulfill their demand more areas of forest will came under deforestation.

At present deforestation  is one of the major issue faced by the earth.

But due to the urbanization the rate of deforestation will be accelerated.

This will directly impact on the number of trees on this planet.

Trees are the important component of environment. Dependency of humans on trees is very huge.

Due to deforestation earth will face issues like acceleration of CO2 gas percentage in the atmosphere.

Which leads to phenomenons like ozone layer depletion, global warming, pollutions and melting of the ice caps.

Urbanization Effects On Environment Through Pollution

Pollution is biggest reason of stress among the scientist due to urbanization.

As the population will increase the rate of pollution will also increases.
Pollution will contaminate air, water, land and noise by their harmful pollutants.

Air pollution

They are various activities of humans, which introduced the pollution in the air.

When the population per capital increases the activities will also increase. Due to which air pollution will accelerate.

Activities like domestic, industrial and commercial burning introduce harmful pollutants like SOx , NOx, CO , dust, smook and fog in the atmosphere.

Due to  increment in number of human, number of sources of air pollution will also increases.

Which leads to diseases related to lungs ,kidney ,respiratory system and eyes.

Disease like  lungs cancer, Bronchitis and cardiovascular disease is very harmful for human health.

Water pollution

The presence of harmful pollutants like lead, Mercury ,hydrocarbon and phosphate in the water is known as water pollution.

This pollutants are introduced by humans by their various activities in the hydrosphere.

Deposition of waste , heavy metals and dangerous substances occur due to various human activities like industrial processes, domestic use of water bodies and power plant functioning etc.

Due to the advanced towards the humans population increase in the number of sources in the City.

Through this water bodies will become contaminated which will lead to disease like diarrhoea ,chloride and other communicable disease.

Land pollution

Previously we talked about increase in garbage generation rate by urbanization .

This garbage contaminates the land and make land nutrient deficient which affects the production of crops.

Through this the  balance of the environment and food chain will be disturbed.

Which affects a large number of humans due to this, countries may face the starvation.

And crop are not just used as a food, it also produce various natural textiles thread and other useful resources which may lead resource deficiency.

Noise pollution

Urbanisation will accelerate noise pollution the most because noise mainly produced by humans or by their various activity.

Sources like supermarket , fish market parks playground, sports stadium and other public areas produce noise due to the presence of humans in large number.

So through this  observation  conclude that dense population directly proportional to noise pollution. That means urbanization will definitely affects  the noise pollution.

As the number of people increases so demand of vehicle which they want for transportation use also increase.

That means to number of vehicles on the road and highways will also increase.

This will accelerate other problems like air pollution and traffic.
At present traffic and shortage of parking are main problems of metropolises

Due to urbanization this problem will become more hectic and affect the human two different ways.

Positive effects of urbanization on environment.

Opportunities

If urbanisation will generate various problems toward environment on a flip side it will also create the opportunities for large population of the world.

As the people start shifting toward big metropolises they will demand various services ,product or other stuffs.

This will encourage the manufacturer to increase their production of their products or increase the reach of their services.

For functioning of all these processes properly they will hire new workers or employees. Through this more and more people will get the job.

Jobless people not remain useless and they are also able to make themselves economical stable and strong.
And leave the rest of his life with joy.

Economy

As the unemployment rate of a certain country will decrease.  This will boost the economy of various countries especially developing countries.

This affects the poverty and illiteracy rate . And health and wealth of countries people become strong.

As the economy will increase, environment degradation will increase.

That lead to produce different problems which is not good for our family.

So opportunities and economy are two positive or benefits of urbanization on the environment.

Conclusion

Urbanisation is harmful for environment and humans. Up to 2050 urbanisation effects on environment will be more hectic and hazardous.

As we discussed consequences of urbanization on environment. How organisation will impact on Garba generation, pollution and  maybe responsible for starvation.

But you also discuss that economic opportunities are two positive or benefits of urbanization on the environment.
