Air pollutants sources and effects

Image
Air pollutants sources and effects  Air pollution is mainly caused due to two reasons first humans and second due to air pollutants present in the atmosphere. And if you want to control or stop pollution in air, first you have to know about air pollutants, their sources and its effect. When you get full and complete information about their sources. Then you will recognise the real cause and will be able to control it. Through this article we conveyed air pollutants full information from where they are generated and how they will affect you and your family. Let's start Air pollutants sources and effects CO ( carbon monoxide) It is colorless, odorless, tasteless gas, chemically inert under normal condition of temperature and pressure. It has no effect at normal concentration (0.1 ppm) but at higher concentration it is seriously affects  the human metabolism. Sources a) CO reduce the oxygen carrying capacity of blood by reacting with hemoglobin and cause giddiness, laziness and e...

You Think You Know What Land Pollution Is ?

Causes and effects of land Pollution

~> What is land or soil pollution ?
~> What are it's causes ?
~> What are it's effects ?

If you are asking any of the above question, well you have came to the right place.

I promise, you will get valuable answer for all the above questions.

Now only one third part of the earth is land, which is also know as lithosphere. And as always humans are trying to destroying it.

But you will think that why i am so much curious about it ?

This question has a very simple answer because most of the human population live on the lithosphere.

From which you and me are getting food , shelter and other useful stuffs.

Today we will try to find out what are its causes and what it has effects on you and your family.

Let's start

 What Is Land Pollution ?

Land pollution define as the presence of garbage or waste like e-waste, bio-medical waste and harmful Substance which dangerous for humans, flora and fauna.

Outer Soil Crust Of the earth is lithosphere. The living organisms plant and vegetation are Supported by the lithosphere ,It also contains resources like mineral , organic as well as inorganic matter and to some extent air and  water.

Lithosphere plays an important role as it not only produces food for human and animals .

Now think when this important outer soil crust becomes polluted . Due to hazardous , and toxic wastes which is constructed or produced by the human . Here is your answer.

Causes of Land pollution

The major reasons for rapid growth in the quantity of land. Waste and pollution are :-

Overpopulation

Today Over population is a one of the major issues of earth .Due to increment in the number of people various  problems like overuse of resources water, Shortage etc occurs.

Soil pollution  is one of the problems which is generated due to it. Due to increase in Population demand of livelihood increases.

Then it becomes waste and gets deposited into the soil and water . We can say pollution is directly proportional to increase in population.

Technology

Rapidly growing technologies for most economic goods indicates a shift in technology from the returnable packaging to non - returnable packaging.

For example plastic bottle, packaging E-waste like mobile and computer parts etc. This E-Waste contains different toxic metal lie lead and mercury.

Urbanization

large metropolis such as Mumbai and Delhi generate around 9000 tons and 8300 tons of Solid Waste per day respectively.

Through which we can understand that in urban areas production of hazardous waste is high which very dangerous for public health

Due to lack of opportunities people from remote areas coming toward the urban area.

Due to this population density of Urban Cities of metropolis is increasing rapidly . As we know that garbage generation is directly proportional to population.

Affluence

With increase in the affluence (ie. increase in wealth and associated material comfort ) there is tendency a to declare item as being in or out fashion and promptly the one which are out of fashion.

Then this old become fashion things become garbage or waste. It good for economy but against earth's health.

We can  observe it in various industries like mobile, Computer and other electronic items.

Open dumping

Open dumping is a method in which garbage and waste dumped in low lying areas and outskirts of the cities.

Being relatively cheaper, this method has been extensively used in developing countries like India. Which is hazardous for human as well as animals.

Sanitary lang filling

In this method the solid or E- waste disposed or dumped either in naturally available low lying area or by digging  trenches  or in open area under engineered operations.

Mismanagement
Mismanagement in collection and disposal will increase land pollution. If we properly manage the waste and garbage we can reduce the pollution.

Deforestation

In a year acres or hectares of forest comes under the deforestation. Deforestation aids in boosting various types of pollutions. It boosts soil pollution too.

The roots of the trees hold the soil together. But after the deforestation holding capacity of land decreases which lead to soil erosion.

Effect of land or soil pollution

Soil erosion

Soil erosion means displacement of upper or most mineral rich  layer of soil .The top layer soil displaced from its

This can cause mineral insufficiency which is hazardous for agriculture and plants.

Production rate of Crops will lead will become Rapidly decreasing.  This will  problem of food or crop Shortage.
Which is very dangerous. for humans and plants.

Deserts

Due to soil erosion the mineral composition of soil will decreased. So rate of land turning into be desert increases.

According to study 8 .1 million sq. km new land has turned into desert in the last 50 years.

Human health

Flies breed on the refuse waste dumps from where they migrate the food and water and result in transmission of many  disease like bacillary, diarrhea and amoebic dysentery in humans .

Rats flourishing upon these garbage may also cause plague, Salmonella trichinosis like diseases through direct  bite.

improper disposal Can Cause contamination of  crop and water supply and may results in large scale   epidemic  of Cholera ' jaundice, gastro intestinal disease hepatitis etc.

Percolation of leachates from decomposed and putrefied  dumps may results in ground water pollution .

obnoxious odour arising from decomposing Solid Waste can cause air pollution and cause problems in the surrounding area.

Land waste dumps also creates aesthetically unpleasing Surrounding environment.

Do you want to observe it in your near by locality by an activity ?

If you want to do so then we have an activity for you. So that you can easily see Pollution in your near locality.

Activity 1->

- you have to observe garbage point of your near by locality.

Then take a tool like a trough so that you are able dig some portion there. First try to clean that post with help of tool.

After cleaning dig portion . By observing the quantity of plastic and other waste in the soil you can guess amount of  pollution in it .

Activity 2

In this activity You have take some Soil from your near by industries . By observing it's ph you can check it's pollution.

Activity 3
Third and last activity is very simple you have nothing much to do. By the natural vegetation on the soil you can guess the amount of pollution.

Conclusion

I am hoping that you get all answer of above questions.I think now you will understand why i am so much curious on this topic.
